Formula for life?

When I was an MBA student I signed up for an evening Finance class. When I arrived, the professor was standing at a desk at the bottom of the lecture room "well" - arms folded across his chest, relaxed. The whiteboard behind him was empty. When the bell sounded, he turned to the white board and wrote this:

Then he turned to the class, and without preamble, announced: "This the Net Present Value Formula. It is the only new thing I am going to teach you in this class, because it is the only thing you need to know to answer any - and I mean ANY - financial question that will come up. For the rest of your class, all we're going to do together is figure out how to analyze specific situations so we can plug the proper data into the formula and get the proper answer for that situation."

And you know what? He was right. Every time I've been faced with a financial decision, personal or professional, all I've needed to do was pull up my NPV calculator, plug in the data, and it would tell me what to do.

This morning in mediation, as I was trying to improve my conscious contact with my Higher Power, my Higher Power turned to the whiteboard and wrote this:

Trust God

Then he turned to me and said, without preamble: This the Success in Life Formula. It's the only new thing I need to teach you in this life, because with it you can answer any - and I mean ANY - life questions that will come up. For the rest of your life, all we're going to do together is figure out how to analyze specific situations so we can plug true data into the Formula to get the answers you need at that moment.

And you know what?
